I LOVE WATER

I'm pleased to report that another 9 1/2 pounds are gone from the ladies who checked in for A BETTER ME this week! Way to go! Looks like everyone is doing good. So keep it up because we are all getting closer and closer to goals of looking and feeling better!

I love water. Most of the time you will find me with a glass of water or a bottle of water next to me. I take water with me when I go in my car too. I prefer ice water but I also like room temperature water.

Nothing quenches your thirst quite like water.

When you are trying to diet water is very very important. Studies have shown that both hunger and thirst are triggered together. So often when you feel hungry it's just your bodies way of trying to rehydrate it's self. If you ignored the fact that you are a bit thirsty your body will send you hunger signals. Hoping to get water in the food you eat.

So the next time you feel a little hungry, try drinking a glass of water first to see if that takes care of your desire to eat. Thus, helping with your weight loss.
Drinking water is also good for your skin. It helps to detoxify, hydrate, oxygenate and revitalize the skin as well as replaces moisture lost.

When your skin is not well hydrated it tends to show more wrinkles. So for a fast and easy way to keep that glowing and young look to your face, drink more water.

Want more energy? Drink more water!

We live in a world that is full of toxins and pollution. Our kidneys help to flush those out. But our kidneys need to be well hydrated and have plenty of water to work to their full potential.

When our kidneys are not working as hard as they can due to lack of water we feel sluggish, tired and just completely well.

Do you ever wake up in the middle of the night and feel like you could use a drink of water? But, your bed is so warm and cozy and you are just to sleepy, tired or down right lazy. So you roll over and forget about it.

Well, not me! Every night, before I got to bed, I get my water carafe and fill it up with ice and water. So when I wake up I have my water right next to me. Take a drink and I feel so much better.

There are so many pretty carafes out there. Take a look around, buy yourself one and be ready for that next wake up call you get.

Did you know there have been studies that show if you have 5 or more glasses of water a day you are 50% less likely to have a heart attack then someone who only drinks 2 glasses of water a day.

Our metabolism is dependant on having enough water in our bodies also. Water helps with our digestion system. When it's working properly our bodies are able to get the nutrients it needs out of the food we eat. Thereby, turning the food into energy. The energy boosts our metabolism which of course burns more calories faster.

So, when you exercise, be sure to drink lots of water. We lose a lot of water through our breath and sweating and so it needs to be replaced.

Water also helps to keep our body temperature regulated.

When you think about it, our bodies are mostly water. When we don't have enough water in us our whole system is out of whack.

Our brains are 85% water. Without the proper amount of water we get dehydrated causing headaches, migraines, depression and chronic fatigue.

So, whether it's bottled water, tap water, cold or room temperature, be sure you get enough water every day.
In fact, go now and get a nice big glass of water. It will do you and your body good!

Yep, waters a good thing. We would die without it. If it doesn't taste good to some, just add lemon or lime to it.

I love water too but don't drink as much of it as I should this time of the year, I drink alot more in summer? I've had a set back, fell and spilt open my knee so I can't even bend it, don't know when I'll be able to do my exercises? But I haven't gained anything so it's not all bad.

Very good post today. I need to drink more of that stuff...and you're right, it's best to sip water than eat a cookie!

Since I cut way down on the pop, I drink more water.
I didn't know drinking water decreases your chances of a heart attack. Another incentive to check just water.

Love my bedside carafe. Couldn't do without it. That one in your pic is gorgeous! Mine is from Souther Living at Home, English Garden Set. Some day when I have a digital camera I'll post it.

Water is my favorite thing and I drink lots. Sometimes I think I drink to much and feel waterlogged at the end of the day. But because of kidney stones, the Doc says at least 13 glasses a day. Sometimes all I can do is 9 to 10. xxoo

Thank goodness NYC has very good tap water and I I don't need to buy bottled water.

Good for the weight loss in the Better Me group! I still refuse to get on the scale ..lol!

Brava!!! To you Joanne, and everyone else for this week's weight loss.

Love your fantastic water facts ... it's great information for anyone, dieting or not.

Water and tea are the two things I drink the most and I'm very glad I hate soda because I hear it's tough to give it up for water.

I'd like to add this to your water suggestions list:

Try the Brita water filter pitcher. I gave up bottled water about a year ago in an effort to try to be more "green" because those water bottles just stay around forever.

I keep my Brita filled up and in the refrigerator so I always have chilled water to drink from a glass or pour into a water bottle that I carry around with me. The water tastes great and I'm not adding to the landfill.

Hi Joanne!

What a great post on water! The more we drink the healthier we are. When we diet the body fat that our body tries to eliminate is flushed out so much better if we're drinking lots of water. Such an important part of dieting or just being healthier is drinking water.
Love your vintage Valentines! They are all so darling!!
