WHO SAYS AUTUMN CAN'T BE PINK?

Yes, Autumn is just around the corner. In fact, several of you are already starting to decorate.

When we think of Fall we think of colors in red, gold, orange and browns.

But I say, why not pink! Yes, you heard me. PINK! I know you are thinking there is no way you can have a pink Autumn. I disagree. I think if you love pink. I mean really LOVE pink, then you can use pink for all the seasons.

OK, I'll prove it to you.

Look at this table. Isn't it pretty! You could even use this on your mantel or coffee table.

Yes, they make pink Fall decorations. Look at this glass pumpkin in pink.

Or, if you are crafty then you can make your decorations. Like these glittery pumpkins. How easy would these be to make.

For you painters, how about a beautiful rose painted pumpkin like this one.

Did you know that pumpkins even come in pink? Well they do.

But if you can't find them you can get out your handy dandy spray paint and turn them from orange to pink in no time.

But really. Look at the pretty pink pumpkins that come from Mother Nature.

I often think of dried Indian corn when I think of Autumn. But again, Indian corn comes in pink. So why not get pink corn rather then the yellow, red or orange corn?

Yes! Mother Nature gives us pink corn. Can you believe it?

The flowers most people think about when they think of Fall is mums.

But mums come in pink too.

In fact, I think the pink mums are the most beautiful mums. Don't you?

Just the site of candy corn makes me think of Fall. So if Fall reminds you of candy corn too, how about pink candy corn?

Berries are another Fall item used to decorate with. Pink berries can be found. Just use them in place of the other berries.

Fruit and nuts coming out of a cornucopia is a beautiful Fall display.

So pretty pink pomegranates would be a great choice.

So would these pink pistachio nuts.

How about making your Autumn cookies pink too.

Of course leaves are one of the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Fall.

There are many trees that have pink leaves. Use them.

Wouldn't these pink leaves be beautiful to decorate with?

So have I convinced you to decorate this Fall in pink? I hope so.

I'm going to give it a shot. I want to make the pink glittery pumpkins. I think I'll look for some pretty pink pumpkin decorations too.

Don't ever let anyone tell you that you have to follow the color rules for holidays. If we girls stick together, we can make every holiday turn PINK!

Come back tomorrow and I'll show you how to have a Pink Halloween.

Hugs,
Joanne

DREAMING OF FALL

I know they say we shouldn't wish for days ahead because then we just wish our life away. But, I'm tired of the hot and humid days of summer.

I'm dreaming of the cool, crisp Fall days ahead. I thought you may like to join in my daydream by looking at these pretty fall pictures.

Enjoy!

WHY DO WE LOVE BUTTONS?

I did not grow up with a grandma, mom or aunt that would sew. I don't know how to sew either. So I don't know why I have this love of buttons.

What is it that makes us collect and display buttons?

Is it all the different shapes and designs?

Some buttons have two holes.

Some have four holes.

Some you can't even see the hole as they are attached from under the button.

Do we love them because they come in all different sizes?

Some of them even have the old thread still in them.

Or do we like the way they looked when they are in different containers. Like this pretty jar.

I like them even in simple jars like this one.

Look how fun they look in a jar that was meant for candy.

Even in this little cherub pot they look good.

I don't know what it is about buttons but I love them. I love to look at them. I love to play with them. I love to hold them or just run my fingers through them.

I don't have them because they are worth anything. I know some buttons are but I wouldn't know a good one from a bad one. They are all just buttons to me.

How about you? Do you love buttons? If so, why. What do you do with the buttons you have? Where do you display them? Where did you get them?

Do you have a favorite type or color of button you collect? I only have white ones, blue ones and a few with rhinestones. I would love to start a collection of pink buttons.

Joanne

FIRST HINT OF BLUE BEDROOM

I thought I would show you a bit of what my bedroom is starting to look like.

The room is going to be mostly blue and white with touches of pink.

Even though this is a vintage cookbook I thought it was fun to use as it's blue.

I liked it because of it's worn and shabby look. Plus it adds that pop of blue in a space that is mostly white.

I really think I need to paint this lamp. It's got to much yellow in the cream color. I think a whiter shade of cream would be better.

Do you remember seeing all these little treasures I either found at thrift stores, made or bought from Etsy?

This is the quilt I have on my bed. I have an iron head board right now. I have the foot board that goes with it but my room is to small to use it. I still have not finished the headboard I got at the thrift store.

When I do I'm going to move the bed to the wall with the window. I also think I'm going to change out the side tables. I love them as my sister gave them to me for my birthday one year. They are very cute mosaic tables but they are green and I want white.

I love this little pillow I got off of Etsy. I'm sorry but I forget the name of the shop.

I still have so much to do. I have to hang up the pictures, plates and mirrors. Add the curtains and vintage hankies up and I have a chair I want to paint blue and add a pillow I have for it.

I can't decide if I should paint the walls blue or not. They are green now. Not the color in the photos as the wall color didn't come out right. There is green in the quilt from the leafs that is the same color of green in the walls.

I'm thinking I should go ahead and paint the walls. I think a pale blue would be very pretty and calming. I just hate the thought of painting.

What do you think? Should I break down and paint it? If yes, what color would you go with?

Well, as soon as I get the room finished I'll show the whole room. But, you know me...I don't do my projects fast like some of you. It could be awhile before I finish.

LITTLE PINK HOUSES FOR YOU AND ME

There is something about pink houses that just make me smile. I would love to live in anyone of these darling pretty pink houses.

OK, so this is not such a "small" pink house...but I would adore living here.

This one has such a cute fence that just looks perfect with this pink house.

Look at the "jewelry" dripping off this pink house!

Looks like the person who lives here loves everything pink. A pink bike sits in front of the pink house.

How about this beauty! It even has it's own pink light house!!!

This little house just screams 50's charm.

Even the big houses look pretty in pink.

Doesn't this look like a movie star would live here.

Love the windows on this pink beauty.

This front door with the little bike outside has a lovely French cottage flair to it.

Well there you have it. As John Cougar's song says....Little Pink Houses for You and Me.

Hugs,

Joanne
