WINDOW BOXES

I just love window boxes full of beautiful plants and flowers!

There is just something so cheerful about seeing the flowers hanging on the side of the house with the flowers trailing down.

There are so many different types of window boxes. The kind that you set on top of a shelf.

Or the kind that you just sit inside the window seal.

There are wooden ones.

Plastic ones. Some are even metal ones.

No matter what kind of window box you pick, they are all lovely and add that final touch to your house.

For those of us who don't have a window that would fit a window box, you can always hang one on a fence.

Or you can put one on a vintage window you have displayed out in your garden.

Even if it's a small window box, it will look great no matter where you put it.

Or, you can just put one on the side of your house even where there isn't a window.
I think window boxes really give a romantic look to your house or garden area.

I don't have any window boxes right now. But, I'm going to pick up a few the next time I go to the Garden store. I have several places they would look good hanging.

I like the way they can be changed out for the different seasons too.

Dressing them up with things along with the plants or flowers are fun. Like pumpkins in the fall, flags for the Patriot days and pine cones or lights at Christmas time.

Spring is the perfect time to get a new window box if you don't have one.

I can't wait to get mine. What about you? Do you have any window boxes?

I don`t have window boxes. Our desert environment fries or freezes flowers.

One of the most beautiful sights in Germany was my neighbors window boxes. Restuarants, stores and homes, everbody had several.

What a wonderful thing to blog about and the pictures are yummy! I love all of them although I have my favorites. You have now got me thinking about window boxes and I will be getting some. I have wanted them for a while but my hubby doesn't like the idea of nailind into our new vinyl siding. We had it put on 2 years ago and it's been naked ever since! Thanks for writing about that and dropping in all those thoughtful photos.:)

Joannetotally agree. I love how a few well placed boxes can totally change the look and feel of a home.
I have four large ones across the front of my home. But, boy are the ever water hungry. :-D Lovely pics. Reminds me of the ones I took in Charleston. I went ga-ga over those bozes. Blessings, Barb

Oh my gosh, aren't those beautiful? I loved the ones with the blue lobelia and the one above that with the petunias! We're in a split level, which doesn't lend itself to having window boxes (windows are too high to easily water the plants)... So I have them hanging under old windows that are mounted on our fence, on our backyard shed, and on the girls' old treehouse! I can't wait to see photos of yours after you've bought and planted them!... Donna @ An Enchanted Cottage

I love the window boxes! If we buy the beach mobile I'm having some even if I hang them off the porch railing.
I'm joining the Victorian Tea Society. So now I'm on the look out for an outfit. Hopefully we'll meet in person one day.
Hugs, Susan

Hi Joanne...
How I would love to have a window box under our front window. I am planting under it on the ground. Thanks SO much for all the adorable ideas. I have looked and looked but so far have not found one that will work in that space. How cute all of these are. I wonder where they might be found? Adorable!! Please do let me know if you find a good source.
Hugs,
Mona

Stopping by from A Diva's Garden. I love window boxes. I don't have any under my windows, but I have placed them along the railing on my deck. I can't wait for spring so I fill them with petunias, vinca and whatever else I can find.
