PUPPY TEA PARTY

OK, I admit it, I look for any reason to plan a party. So maybe that is why I'm planning this one. But, my two dogs are going to be turning 6 and 8 this year and I thought it would be fun to throw them a birthday party. They have never had one before.

I can't just throw any type of a party. All my parties have themes. I picked a Puppy Tea Party for this one!

I want to invite friends over to celebrate my little boys birthday's but I also want them to have fun. Who doesn't love a tea party!

I was thinking of maybe having tea sandwiches cut with bone shape cutters.

Maybe make some cute little cookies that look like puppies.

Have some candy that is served in dog dishes.

Or meringue cookies that look like dog bones.

It's hard to think of cute little dog theme ideas that are also elegant enough for a tea party.

When Trinity was little, I had her and friend, over for a puppy themed lunch.
We had spaghetti (think Lady and the Tramp) and I served it in dog bowls. I also got little cups in the shape of bones.

We also had a chopped salad and I made little bone shaped garlic breads.

I served the salad dressing in mini dog dishes. The table cloth was just some material with puppy paw prints on it and I hemmed the edges.

We used dog toys and stuffed dogs as table decorations.

It was a cute little lunch theme but I need more for an adult Tea Party!

So come ladies! Help me out. What ideas can you come up with? I know this is a hard one but you guys always have the best ideas. So what can you come up with for this one?

Or, do you think this is just a silly idea and Tea Party and Puppy Theme doesn't even go together and just can't be done.

I really have not decided yet if I could pull it off and it make it look nice. What do you think?

You...are amazing!! How do you do it? Spend all that time helping...others and do this. You delight me..you really do!
What an adorable idea and how fun!
Our pets have become more and more members of our families instead of just "a dog" and I love watching this happen. My dogs have alway..been inside and part of our family, going every place we go. Well..ok...I don't buy clothes for Mele..but..I have to admit I have been tempted.
The cookies...were the cutest things!! Who would think of making such things? YOU..of course!! ~big smile~
Hugs to you, my friend.

Well you could make your guests where headbands that have different dog ears attached to them. Will your guests go that far? I sure want to see photos from this party!!

I have an award for you on my Friday March 6th post!

Hugs, Sherry

Are you sure you shouldn't be a party planner ?

My mind must be jello, because I just don't come up with anything, except maybe something made with jello like dog bones ?

Ciao

Thanks for sharing and thanks for the idea for a tablescape. You really have me thinking now about that candy theme....A Dentist's Dream...Humm. :)

This is a cute idea Joanne. I'm sure you could make a great looking puppy cake as the centerpiece and then have small sandwiches decorated to look like puppy faces and cute little dog nick knacks on the table as decorations...maybe have a fire hydrant and some squeeze toys. Tell everyone who is invited to bring their dogs?
