I'VE DESIDED TO GO PINK!

I'm in the process of redoing my back yard. I wasn't sure what color I should go with. At first I thought blue. Then I thought all white. But then I thought pink!

My sister, Pat, told me she saw a pink and white swing set and as soon as she showed it to me I knew I had to have it.

So tomorrow she is going to go pick one up. I can't wait! It's going to be so cute with some pretty little floral pillows on there.

Today I started to paint some chairs we have pink. A pretty pale, Shabby Chic pink. They will be perfect with the swing.

Almost all of the flowers in our garden are pink, purple and white so they will look beautiful with the pink chairs and swing.

I also have a bench I'm going to paint white and then redo the cushions in a lovely pink material. Maybe I'll try to find some pink and white striped material for pillows so they will tie in with the swing. What do you think?

I can hardly wait to see this yard all done.

I think I'm going to take my other sister, Maureen's, advice and try to finish up on one room at a time. Rather then work on my bedroom, bathroom, office and yard all at one time, I'll stick with the yard first then move on to another area.

So sadly that means I'm not going to do much shopping at the thrift stores or garage sales for while. But it also means I'm going to be working on finishing up tons of projects I already have to do.

Well that's the plan at least. I'll let you know how it goes.

I'll post the pink chairs tomorrow. I only got one 1/2 done. The front. The back will get done tomorrow.

Hugs to everyone,

Joanne

Hi Joanne!
Oh what fun! A pink & white theme, I LOVE it! I can hardly wait to see the outcome. It's going to be FABULOUS!
I think your sister had good advice for you, one area at a time. It can be so overwhelming to have multi projects going on. (we are doing several things right now and it's not pretty!)
I have a new post with my treasures, come see!
Hugs, Sherry

Hi joanne, I love the pink swing. Sounds like it will be great. You will have to post pictures of your yard when all said and done.

You think you will be able to stay away from the flea markets and garage sales. He He!

Have a wonderful time designing. We are in the middle of a bathroom remodel. What a nightmare.

Hope to see more pictures.

I know you'll take a picture of the yard when your done. I know it will be very pretty. Pink in a garden setting aaahhhh.

Your sister's wise to tell you that. I know it's hard to stick to one thing. I know I am awful about that.

Ciao

Hi Joanne,
wow it sounds so pretty, and I love the swing, where did your sister find that? I think the pink will look great. I was also looking at all your yardsale finds, you did good. I'm sure you've seen where they use the old plates to line the borders around your flower garden, but thought I would say they would look so pretty with all the pink, i've been collecting cheap little plates at Goodwill to use in my garden. I'll be back soon to checkon your progress. Kelly
P.S. I just spray painted some metal chairs I have in my backyard, pink of course!

You can never go wrong with pink. In fact Sue (The other half of Cottage Way of Life) just finished painting her house pink, and we are working on the back yard right now. She has some wonderful pink lounges. We plan to do a post in the next month about it as we are getting it ready for a 4th of July BBQ. SOOooo pink is a great choice for the backyard. Can't wait to see pictures!! :)

Hi Joanne!
I will treasure the Lamoges box because it came from such a special friend, YOU! I had the same thing happen to me with a trinket box, what a small world, and I gave it to one of my grand-nieces. That is so odd that we had the same experience. Anyway I will take good care of it because it will now represent you!

I just LOVE pink! I think pink is my favorite color... why yes I do believe it is. Hubby and I have been re-doing some things in our backyard and I would love to have a porch swing. Maybe I'll just have to get me one!
