HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Have a wonderful Halloween. Don't eat any candy until you get home and check it. Someone may have put extra calories in there without you knowing!

Be good to the Trick or Treaters that come to your door. You don't want them to come back later and toilet paper your house.

Most of all have fun and enjoy the night!

VIVA LAS VEGAS!

By the time you are reading this I will be on the road to Vegas Baby! That's right, this gal is headed to the bright lights better known as Sin City!

I'm going with my brother, Gene. You remember him don't you? He is my Hero who had the major stroke about a year and 1/2 ago. He has come a long way since then, though still not back to his old normal self.

He can now walk with a cane but most of the time he is still in his wheelchair.

His wife is going to visit her parents in Ohio for a few days so he asked if I would stay with him while she was gone. Of course I said, yes.

He told me he didn't want to just stay home while I was there and had me check into some cruises. While there were several and the prices were great for last minute bookings, none had a handicap room open. So that plan when by the way side.

We then turned to plan B. It's always good to have a plan B. Our plan B happened to be Vegas!

Gene loves Vegas! So we rented a room at Paris and we will be there from today (Thurs) until Monday the 2nd of Nov.

Sure hope we win lots of money. Even if we don't I am sure we will have fun. I think we may take in a show or two while we are there.

This will be the first real trip Gene has been on since his stroke and I'm honored he feels comfortable enough to go alone with me.

I'll be sure to let you know all we did when I get home... MAYBE. After all, sometimes What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas!

See you then!

THE WITCH LUNCHEON

Come on in my pretties! Sit a spell. You are invited to join us...if you dare.

These are the invitations that were sent out to a Witch Luncheon I was having.

They are from the Martha Stewart line and while they photographed as almost a red they are really a deep orange.

The table was set the night before. Just waiting for everyone to come by the next afternoon.

I had so much fun going on the hunt to gather cute witch table settings.

It all started when I went to Salem and in the Witches Museum I found these darling little Witch broom pens. I knew then I wanted to have a Witches Tea or Luncheon so I bought them and brought them home with me.

I found these darling place card holders on Etsy. I can't remember who I bought them from but if you know, please tell me. I would love to buy another set for next year.

As always, TJ Maxx came through with having several cute different kinds of dishes I could use.

I love the square black and white polka dot plates. While they are not really Halloween plates they fit right in and I can use them with other tablescapes as well.

The salad plate had a pumpkin with a black silhouette of a witch and was trimmed in orange with the black silhouettes of bats and cats. I forgot to take a picture of it alone so you could see it.

The bowls had witches and were actually part of a three piece set. I just used the smaller bowls as I was serving Pumpkin soup and needed bowls.

The table cloth also came from TJ Max.

I got the napkins and napkin rings for 75% off at Kohl's. The napkin rings were little spiders with witch hats on. They also had glitter so of course I had to get them.

The salad was served in a witch's cauldron and sandwiches were cut to look like witch hats. I also made "witch purses" out of brie cheese wrapped in filo dough. YUM!

The soup was Pumpkin soup and the salad also had pumpkin seeds. I Had to keep with the Halloween theme.

Everyone had to wear a witch hat. After all, it was a Witch Luncheon!

The Witch Sisters!

One of the "witches" brought me this darling apron. It says Witchy Woman on it. Don't you just love this! I sure do!

These witches were watching over the goodie bags everyone got to take home. Inside was a sweet little dish towel that had a witch on it and black and orange beads hanging off it, a candy bar with a great vintage Witch Halloween wrapper and tissues with witches on them.

Everyone also got to take home their witches broom pen and the Happy Haunting wrapped candy at their place setting.

We all had so much fun and agreed this is going to be a new Halloween Tradition. So, there you have it. This is how traditions begin.

ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST!

Another one bites the dust! Another one bites the dust! And another one's gone. Another ones gone. Another one bites the dust.

Yes that is what was going through my mind this morning as I stepped on the scale at Weight Watchers and saw that another 1.6 lbs was now gone from my body.

Slowly but surely the numbers on the scale is going down, down, down.
I have now lost 28 lbs.

Wish it was faster but hey, I'll take it. We are now in the season full of holidays. Candy, cookies, party food and celebrations are everywhere.

I must stay firm and not give in. If I can get through the next few months then it should be smooth sailing for awhile.

So, I'll take it one pound at a time. I can do this. I know I can.

How about you? Can you do it too? Of course you can!

TRICK OR TREAT ~ CALIFORNIA DISNEY STYLE

Micky stood glowing in the dark. A look of surprise was upon his face. Or wait! Is that a look of fear? After all, it is Halloween and we all know that this is the time of the year that things go bump in the night!

But not at Disneyland and California Adventure! It's a night full of fun, treats and excitment!

Every year my two sisters, Trinity and I head out at night and go to the Trick or Treat Party thrown by Disney.

It used to be over at Disneyland years ago but it has since moved over to California Adventure which is right across the way.

This year (last Friday night) we met up with several friends and families and all enjoyed the night together.

We were on a mission to find signs like the one above. We knew that going to these stations would provide us with lots of treats!

This is the first year that Disney has offered not only candy at these stations but also "healthy snacks" if you wanted.

Being on Weight Watchers this was perfect! They had little bags of mini carrots, sliced apples, raisins and dried cranberries.

Of course, most people wanted the candy!

As we walked into the park we were greeted by Miss Candy Corn. She handed everyone a bag to hold all the treats acquired that night.

Trinity and her friend Jesse stopped to take a picture with Miss Candy Corn.

Adults and children were welcomed to wear their costumes if they so desired. Trinity decided not to but Jesse wanted to wear her BMX Racer costume.

The whole park was decorated and everything was cute and festive.

Even the Mickey Mouse balloons were decked out. They even had little lights that flashed on and off inside them.

Live, talking scarecrows were hanging around chatting with the people who walked by.

Very clever!

Happy Ghosts were bouncing around at every turn. Music playing in the background would lead you to your next stop.

Creepy, scary designs appeared on the ground and walls. OK not so creepy and scary as cool looking.

All the Disney characters were out for photo ops. Here Woody and the Green Army Men pose with Trinity and Jesse.

As we were leaving the Green Army Men ordered us all to "Drop and give them 20 push ups!" WHAT!!! I thought this was the happiest place on Earth!

We ran away from there. Boy those Green Army Men are mean!

After our visit with Woody we decided it would be fun to go on the ride Toy Story. Most of us had not been on it before.

It's a lot of fun. You are given 3D glasses and the ride takes you through a large Carnival where you get to play games. Your scores add up and at the end you can see if you are the highest score of the night.

By now, we had hit up several Trick Or Treat Stations, rode on several rides and taken tons of pictures.

The kids were getting tired. They asked to take a break and sit down for a minute.

Though I have a feeling they just found a well lit spot where they could dig through their bags and see what kind of candy they got.

This is what the Trick Or Treat Stations looked like. You would line up, say Trick or Treat and be given a hand full of candy. Well, at most stations you got a hand full.

We did come across a few where they gave only one tiny piece of candy. What was up with that?

We were laughing because we felt like kids again, digging through our bags as we left. When we saw it was one piece only we felt like Charlie Brown... "I got a rock".

Hard as he tries, Mickey Mouse just can't be scary! He is to darn cute!

We all decided to go to the Pirate area where crafts were being offered so we could sit for awhile and rest our feet before heading back out to score some more candy. Oh, I mean health snacks.

The lights and music showed us the way.

Soon we were sitting down and enjoying a nice cold drink. The music was playing, the crowds were dancing and this was a perfect spot for a break.

The Pirate DJ called everyone out on the dance floor. We were all to tired to get out and dance. We would stay seated and just watch.

Then we noticed a few of the kids and "The Sisters" were missing! Where did they go?

Out on the dance floor! Where did they get that energy!

The other kids colored masks and ate lots of sugar.

I went on the hunt for a date! I found this guy but then decided he was to much of a stiff, for my liking, and I walked away.

After taking a break and getting re-energized on sugar, we continued on our journey.

Daisy duck was shaking her Tail Feathers over at Candy Cane Lane.

But, we had our hearts set on going to the Hollywood Back Lot. We knew what we wanted to do.

That's right! It was Halloween and we were going to go ride The Hollywood Tower of Terror Ride!

There was no line at all and we got to walk right on the ride. We went two times.
By now it was 11:00 pm and everyone was ready to go home. So we headed for the front gate, to our cars and finally to our warm beds.

Snow White and Dopey was giving autographs and taking pictures but no one wanted to stop.

So we left Halloween Time behind and went home to visit Dream Land.

I don't know about you, but I know next year we will once again be going Trick or Treat California Disney Style.
