HOLD ONTO YOUR HAT

Have you ever had a chance to see some of the lovely and beautiful hat pins out there?

They come in a rainbow of colors. With beads, glass balls and jewels.

Many beaders still find enjoyment out of making them today.

Sadly, we ladies, don't wear the great hats like the women used to so we don't get a chance to enjoy these hat pins like in the past.

So, we collect them and add them to our hat pin holders and dream about days gone by.

It was such a romantic time back then. The women always dressed up and looked for ways to add more beauty to their outfits. Even if it was just the simple added touch of a hat pin.

I do have a hat pin holder that I've had for years. But, I've never bought any hat pins to go in it. I don't know why. I think I just thought of a new little collection I need to work on.

The hat pins in the pictures above are not mine. Just some pretty ones I found on the Internet that I wanted to share with you.

Hugs,
Joanne

I have a few hat pins, from CW re enacting days. I should get a pin holder for them.

Why don't we wear hats anymore? My mom used to wear a hat and gloves every time she walked out the door. It was part of being 'dressed'.

Thye are very pretty Joann. I wonder if thyey could be worn as a lapel pin on a dress jacket?
Love ole blues eyes singing to me this morning!

Such pretty hatpins. I've always thought they would be so pretty sitting in a holder on a dresser.

Hi Joanne,
How are things going in your corner of O.C.? My corner is extremely busy and I've had no time for fun...yuk!
I love your hat pin post. Very lovely! I have several that belonged to my grandmother, but none of them are beautiful like these and I say, "if you want to wear a fancy hat...wear a fancy hat!" What could be more fun!
I hope you have a great weekend!
XO Cori

Hi Joanne... Lovely post! I think I saw a few golf club pins in there! LOL ... I am lucky enough to have a Vintage holder filled with Hat Pins... It belonged in my MIL's collection, and it came to me after she passed away.

So glad you've been enjoying the Vintage Halloween post cards at my blog... Please let us see the ones you frame, if you get a chance to take photos of them! Have a wonderful weekend... God bless...

Those hat pins are beautiful. They remind me of my Grandma, she always wore a hat when she went out and had hat pins on her dressing table. Thanks for bringing back such lovely memories.
Enjoy your cruise. I can't wait to hear all about it.

These are beautiful. I actually have an antique hatpin that I wore in a play once. I would love a collection of them also!

Joanne,

I am finally getting caught up on my blog reading. I am glad you enjoyed your visit with Pat and Cori. I have been to San Diego three times and I stayed at the Hotel Del last year for 6 nights in February ('07) when my husband was there on business. It was fabulous beyond words. Sitting on a bench reading in the sunshine and then walking on the beach and housepeeping all around town. Glad you enjoyed Old Town too and that the Mexican Restaurant is there under a new name. I had heard that it was gone...but where would it go?? Brings back some fun memories.
