MY POOR SISTER!

My poor sister, Maureen, has a kidney stone. Ouch!

Well, actually this is her 2nd one. She passed one already. It took several weeks for it to pass and she was in a lot of pain. So much so, she required two trips to the ER in order to get pain medications.

That was a sure sign she was in pain because she NEVER takes medication for pain. So when she said she needed to go to the ER I knew she must really be hurting.

While at the ER they took X Rays and found she had a much bigger one still in her kidney.

No, the above X Ray is not hers but hers looked like this one.

The stone, still in her kidney, was to big to come out on it's own. So they told her she would have to go in and they would have to break it up so it could pass.

Today she is going to the hospital to have the procedure done. They will put her on a machine like the one in the picture above and then they will direct shock waves into her and aim them at the stone.

If all goes well, the stone will break up in super small pieces and pass without any further problems.

I'll be at the hospital waiting for her. While there I'll be praying for her to come through this with no problems.

I love my sister and hate seeing her in pain. If I could I would gladly switch places with her.

When someone you love is sick or hurting you feel so helpless. You just want to make it all better but you can't.

So, I'll pray and I'll be there for her when she wakes up. I'll get her whatever she needs and I'll be sure to remind her to drink tons of water from now on.

If you can, will you say a quick prayer for her too. I know in the scheme of things this isn't a real big problem compared to things like Cancer but, when it's your sister going through this you sure feel like it's a big deal.
