Well today's the day! It's finally here. The day to cast our votes.
I'm so happy. I'm really tired of the phone calls telling me who to vote for and what to say YES or NO to. Don't these people think we have a mind of our own?
I'm tired of hearing all the bashing on He said/She said stuff. Tired of all the commercials. Tired of the jokes. Just tired of it all. Let's move on.
My voting place is at our local Fire Department. It's about a block away from where I live. Where do you have to go to vote?
Every year my sister and I take the dogs for a little walk up to vote. We cast our ballots and walk around the park that is right next to the Fire Department and then come home. We drop off the dogs and then go have lunch.
It's become our little tradition. We always go together and the dogs always come with us.
My other sister, Maureen, does not come with us because every year she volunteers at the voting booths. Isn't she great! She gets up before the sun comes up to set up everything and doesn't get home until the polls close. It's a long and tiring day for her but she loves it.
How about you? Do you have a tradition on voting day? Do you listen to all those phone recordings or just hang up? Have you ever voted a different way because of a commercial or phone call? Do you vote?
Hugs,
Joanne

Joanne, I'M TIRED OF IT TOO. I can't wait till tomorrow!!! They had the kids' school open for voting but when I went there they told me I have to go somewhere else down the street. I told them that I only lived a few houses away and that this was more convenient for me. They showed me the map and it cuts off right AFTER my house. LOVELY!!! Now I have to wait till James gets home to watch the kids. Oh well!!! Talk to you soon!!!
Hi Joanne
My 86 yera old Mom is a poll worker too! She's worked for over 20 years for the Board of Elections since she retired.
I don't have a special routine but I haven't missed a vote since I was 18 years old!
Hugs, Pat
I just found your blog today. I loved all your photos. I voted today too! It is great that we have the freedom to do so even if they drive us all crazy in the process.
Come visit us soon.

I just voted, YEAH!!!!
Our polling station has been up the hill from us.
And no I don't listen to any of the calls I hang up on them after I hear who it is. I monitor my calls all the time anyway so, it works out.
Ciao
I was lucky here in Texas we have early voting, I voted two weeks ago. I will say that I am glad that it is over. I'm tired of all the commercials, especially the ones where they say ugly things about their apponent. I dislike it when they have to tear someone down to build themselves up. But that is history now as we move forward!

I voted and there were no lines at all this year. The only tradition I have is to treat myself to a cup of coffee afterwards but this year I didn't have any cash or atm card on me (grrr). I forgot them on my end table and by the time I got back home I didn't want to go out again as it was cold and windy. I brewed a pot of coffee, and turned on a dvd.
Hi Joanne,
My official voting place is the school in my neighborhood. However, I often take advantage of the early voting in Texas. It is nice since I have to be on campus by 7:10 a.m..This year we had a meeting scheduled until around 4:15. Then I had to rush to my sons football game at 5:00. I usually stay through both of the games (A team and B team). We were finally heading home around 8:30. So no traditions, just squeeze it in the best I can.
Blessings,
Lorilee
