I LEFT MY HEART IN SAN FRANCISCO

Sometimes if we wait long enough we can see our dreams come true. You are never to old to cross off one of your dreams from your list.

Tonight I was able to have a dream come true and now I can cross that one off my list.

Way back in May, it was my birthday, and my dear sister, Patty, got me two tickets to see Tony Bennett.

I know many people think I'm silly for loving him but I do. I always have, for as long as I can remember.

So I was thrilled to get these tickets and tonight it was finally my turn to see my dream come true.

I went with my friend Sandra. You know her, she was the one who had the party I shared with you yesterday. She loves Tony too and since it is her birthday, Patty told me to ask her to go with me.

She was thrilled and was able to get a babysitter to watch her son.

So off to the Orange County Performing Arts Center we went.

We got our program and while we were ready to go see where our seats were the doors were not open yet.

We got a drink and waited out in the lobby. No, I wasn't bad. I had a diet coke. No extra calories for me this night.

Finally it was time to go inside. We found our seats and I was very lucky I had a tiny girl sitting in front of me so my view was great.

I know we are not supposed to take photos but I just had to. I kept the flash off and clicked away.

But, my punishment for breaking the rules was, not one photo came out clear.

The bright spot light they kept on Tony Bennett made his face wash out in every photo.

I must say that this is one singer who sounds just as good in person as he does on a CD or on TV.

His voice is the same today as it has always been. Crisp and clear.
There was even one point where he had the microphone turned off and he sang the whole song without it. You could still hear and understand each and every word.

This man can belt out a song.

This is when he was singing I Left My Heart in San Francisco. My all time favorite song of his.

I was so sad these photos didn't come out.

His daughter opened the night for him by singing four songs. Sadly she does not have the same pitch as her father. She hit so many sour notes that I felt sorry for her.

He did thank everyone for being so nice to his daughter though. I think he knows she doesn't sing that good but it is her dream to be a big star so he gave her a chance to preform in front of an audience.

I couldn't get over all the standing ovations Tony got. It was almost every song that got the crowd clapping madly and standing on their feet.

He even got a standing ovation when he first walked out on stage and had not sang one note yet.

Oh there is his smiling face. I had to use a photo I found on line since none of my photos turned out.

He just seems like such a kind man and so down to earth.
I had a great time tonight. I got to hear a man I love sing in person. It put a smile on face and song in my heart.

Thanks to my dear sister, I had a dream come true tonight. I'm a very lucky girl.

I ADMIT IT ~ I LOVE TONY BENNETT

I have been a Tony Bennett fan for as long as I can remember. There is just something about him that I love.

I have lots of his CD's and I even stood in line once for hours just to get a photo with him and his autograph.

I even have his song "I left my heart in San Francisco" as my ring tone on my cell phone.

Many people have laughed at me when they find out about my little crush on Tony. I don't care! There isn't anything anyone can say that would make me change the way I feel.

So why am I telling you this? Well, yesterday was my birthday. I had a great day and got lots of super nice gifts. I admit it, I was spoiled.

One of my favorite gifts has to be the one my sister, Patty, gave me. She got me tickets to see Tony Bennett in concert!! I almost fainted! This has been a dream of mine.

As much as I love him, I've never had a chance to go see him sing in person.

To think I'm going to get to is so exciting for me. I can hardly wait! Even though I have to wait until Sept....oh dear, that seems so far away.

I know the time will be here before I know it and it will be over way to soon. So I will cherish the excitement and spend the next several months knowing, soon one of my dreams will be coming true.

Thank you Patty! Thank you so much! Of course you know you are the one I'm going to be taking with that extra ticket you got me.

I also want to thank everyone else for the great gifts, wonderful cards, lots of phone calls, emails and well wishes and mostly for the time and love you have given to me.

I had a fantastic birthday!!!

Now, I'm off to Ontario to attend my Paranormal Boot Camp classes and then to a ghost hunting investigation.

NEW CHRISTMAS CD'S

I love to listen to Christmas music. It seems to always put me in a happy mood. Really gets me in the Christmas spirit.

I have a pretty good size collection of Christmas CD's. Every year I try to get at least one or two new ones.

This year, my wonderful sister, Patty, picked up two new ones for us while she was out shopping.

One of my favorite singers is Tony Bennett. So I was thrilled when I saw the first CD was Tony Bennett's "A Swingin' Christmas" featuring The Count Basie Big Band.

There is just something about the good old singers from the past singing Christmas songs that I adore. Sure, I like some of the newer singers and the new songs but my heart holds a special place for the traditional songs like, Have Your Self a Merry Little Christmas, Silver Bells, I'll be Home for Christmas and Santa Claus is coming to Town.

So this CD is perfect for me!

Growing up it just wasn't Christmas without Elvis singing in the background. So this CD reminds me of Christmas past.

It's Elvis Presley "Christmas Duets". Through the power of magic Elvis is now singing with the likes of Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride, Wynonna Judd and several others.

OK, well it's not by magic but by the wonderful technology of today they have remixed and remastered the old versions of Elvis' Christmas songs to make this beautiful CD.

My all time favorite Christmas song is The First Noel. I get a bit misty eyed every time I hear that song. What is your favorite Christmas song?

Be sure to stop by tomorrow as I'm having a GIVEAWAY!
