GLOW IN THE DARK COTTON CANDY

I saw this photo on line and knew right away what the theme of Trinity's 13th birthday party was going be.

A Glow in the Dark Dance Party!

I have always loved cotton candy.  But these, well come on!  They kick them up a few hundred notches.  After all, they GLOW!

Who wouldn't want to have one of these?

While I knew we would for sure have these at the party, I wasn't sure how to make them.  I figured you just put a glow stick in the cotton candy cone before you spun the sugar around it.

That made me a little worried.  What if someone bit into the glow stick?

So I did some research to find out how to make it safe.  I knew there had to be a way because several of the big amusement parks are selling Glow in the Dark Cotton Candy.

I found that you can purchase sticks or wands that are made just for cotton candy.  Aren't these cool?

They are sort of a rainbow of color on the stick.  Plus, they can be turned on to flash or stay a steady glow.

I found that you have to order in bulk and it costs around $400.  To much for me.  I didn't need a ton.  I'm not a party planner or own an amusement park that needs hundreds of these.

So, off to ETSY I went and low and behold, I found you can buy them for only $2.00 each and you can buy as many as you want.  So it's much better for the normal parties most of us throw.

I can't wait to give them a try!

I don't own, nor do I want to buy, a cotton candy machine.  But, there is a store near me that rents them.  Plus, you don't have to clean them up when you are finished!  They will drop off and pick up too.

Guess what I'll be doing.  Yes, it's a rental for me.

If any of you have tried these before, let me know what you thought of them.

How do you get pop rocks throughout the cotton candy? I've also heard of eatable glitter in it. Does anyone have further information on this? I'd like to know how to flavor your own cotton candy to make gourmet flavors.
