FALL FESTIVAL TIME

Every year the local school puts on a Fall Festival. I like to go to support the school and to watch all the kids having fun.

They have good food. A Taco Truck comes and cooks up fresh tacos. Lots of yummy salsa, beans and rice too.

There are snacks to enjoy all night long. Dippin' Dots was just one of the many treats to be found.

There were raffle drawings.

Games.

The kids dressed up in costumes and had a costume parade and contest.

There were all sorts of costumes and while most years there is one or two costumes you see a lot of, this year was different. Not to many duplicates at all.

I enjoyed seeing the kids dressed up and having fun.

Most of the costumes were purchased from the store.

But, the winner of the costume contest was a homemade one. I loved it! Very cute and clever.

Here, the gang is going into the Haunted House. I didn't go in with them but I heard screams coming from inside. So, it must have been scary!

Trinity sought the comfort of her best friends mom when she came out. While I think some of it may have been real I do think she was putting on an act of being way more scared then she really was.

It was then Tattoo time. So many to pick from...

It wasn't just one of those wash off ones. It was more like Henna.

Trinity picked a cross with a heart on it and was very happy with the way it came out.

My friends cousin came and brought his new puppy that he rescued. This sweet little boy was found tied up and being used to taunt Pit Bulls into attacking it. How sad!

He was so kind to rescue the dog but is now looking for someone to watch the dog for 30 days so he can find a place to live that will allow dogs. I really hope he does. This dog seems to really love him and I know he loves the dog.

The longest line was for the Hamster Ball. From the looks on Trinity's face, I would say it was well worth the wait.

I know it was fun just watching everyone trying to walk around inside the big ball like a human hamster.

We all did the cake walk. They always remind me of when I was a kid at school.

It seems like they are still as popular as ever.

Trinity was lucky and won a cake. She picked the one her best friend made. They were going to spend the night together and she brought it over there so everyone could enjoy it.

I was happy I went to the Festival. It was fun spending time with family and friends. It really put me in the mood for Halloween!

ANOTHER FUN SUMMER DAY WITH YOUR BFF

Two days in a row these BFFS got together for lots of fun, laughs and good times. Of course, this is my darling great niece, Trinity with her BFF Jesse. They met through Brownies and have been as close as sisters ever since.

It was a beautiful warm sunny day out so they asked to come over and go swimming.

I think they were in the pool for about 3 hours and would have liked to stay in for hours more but, we had other plans for later in the afternoon so they had to dry off and change clothes.

We then headed over to the church where it was opening day of the yearly carnival.

There the girls had fun playing silly games.

Here they had to pick three keys and hope that one of them opened the treasure chest full of prizes they could pick from.

They both had bad luck at this game.

I made the mistake to ask to take a peak inside to see the prizes. Once they saw, their eyes open wide and they wanted to play again.

Again they tried and again, no luck. So we moved on.

This was the first year they had some bigger games to play. More like the ones you would find at the county fair.

Yet, most people seemed to like playing the games that were more of a homemade feel to them. They would win tickets there and could cash them in later for prizes.

The smells of food filled the air. Here, fresh made Kettle Corn was being made. I really wanted some but I was strong and walked away.

There were hot dogs, hamburgers, pop corn, onion rings, dots ice cream and lots more.

Normally I would have made a stop here at the Mexican Food booth but I'm hoping for some sort of weight loss this coming Tues so I passed and waited to eat until I got home.

It was off to the ride area for us. I love going to carnivals at night really. I like the flashing lights and music as well as crowds.

We were there when it first opened so it was pretty empty and we even had to wait for the rides to be tested before they could be opened.

When I was younger I loved to go on carnival and fair rides. Now... not so much.

I enjoy seeing others have fun and to listen to the laughter. It's images like this one that get my attention. It's all so retro feeling to me and makes me long for the past.

Times when I loved going into the Fun House and getting trapped in the maze of glass walls.

Now I think I would get in and panic when I couldn't get out.

The BFFS had a lot of fun going on the rides. The scarier the better for them.

As for me and my sisters, well, we enjoyed keeping our feet planted firmly on the ground and watching the girls making memories.

After all, isn't that what Summer is all about?

Oh, I almost forgot! We did go to the rummage sale there too. I'll show you tomorrow what treasures I found there.

JOHN'S PIZZA

Have you ever heard of this place before? John's Pizza? Today was the first time I had ever been there. It was lots of fun!

Not your everyday pizza place. We have a few Chucky Cheese places by me but this place blows them out of the water.

There are different rooms you can sit in. We sat in the Cabin Fever room.

It was a cute room. Had a big stone fireplace, just like a cabin would have. The wood beams gave it a real cabin feel.

The other rooms were Vertical. This is a surfing, snowboarding and skiing room. It was decorated with posters, umbrellas made out of dried palm leaves and had surfing movies playing.

Toon Time was a hot spot with the little ones. They have several different cartoons playing and the decor is all done with cartoon "stars".

Fusion is where the teens like to hang out. It's got loud music and lights as well as music videos playing.

Any sports fans would love Hall of Fame. You won't miss your favorite game in here. Large screens everywhere playing all the sports on TV.

There is so much more then just pizza here. There is a salad bar, pasta bar, pizza bar and desserts.

It's all you can eat too! YUM!

I loved the cinnamon rolls. They were freshly baked and warm.

But, the donuts were pretty darn good too. A lady is right there frying them as you wait. Can't get fresher then that.

There is every kind of pizza you can think of and several you would never think of.

Like Nacho Pizza and macaroni and cheese pizza.

After you eat and drink until your heart is content, there is the big game room. Time to play and win tickets for prizes.

There are the normal games found at most pizza places.

But there is also other type things there. Like neon bowling and Deal or No Deal as well as full on big rides.

Of course, it's always fun to win prizes too! Or you can save your points and come back, win more and get bigger prizes.

The price was great too. It was only $5.99 for all you can eat food, $1.50 for unlimited drinks and you can get a card to play several games for about $10.00.

Time flew while we were there. Even if you are an adult, you feel like a kid again. It's a great way to spend time with the whole family.

I only wish it was closer to where I live. Well, maybe not. I had way to much pizza and dessert and so it's a good thing I don't live to close.
