LET'S GO TO THE MOVIES

I thought it would be fun to go to the movies and take you along. I would think that all the theaters across the USA would be the same but I'm not sure. So come along with me and then you can let me know.

There are several different theaters near me but my favorite one is the AMC in Tustin. It's the newest one by me and hardly ever crowded.

The thing is, is it's at a large outdoor mall. So parking can be bad if it's on the weekend, evening or holiday.
Some people will even Valet park so they don't have to walk far. I never have done that here. But this is where you would go if you wanted to. If you get to the theater early you may want to pull up a chair outside and people watch, read a book, talk or grab a bite to eat. This is only one of many spots you can sit at.
There is even a super big screen you can watch music videos on.

Or if you would rather go shopping there are tons of shops to go in. Also, many different restaurants to pick from if you are hungry. I like to go out and have lunch or dinner either before or after the movie. Going here let's you do both in one place.

But, we are running a little late so we better hurry and get our tickets before we miss out on the previews. I am one of the people who enjoy the previews. I like to see what is coming up that I can look forward to. What about you? Do you like them or are you the type that would rather just skip them?
This theater is pretty big. They are not all like this around here. But it's pretty much the type they are building now days.

Oh good! The line for the tickets are not long at all. Another thing good about this theater is you always get free things here. They have a card you give them when you buy your ticket and you earn free popcorn, cokes and movies.

Plus, you always get a coupon for something. Today we got Milk Duds for only a $1.00. Not bad. Normally they cost $3.00.

A movie here cost $8.50. It's cheaper then most places around here.

But, if there was long lines you could just slip your credit or debit card in this machine and get your tickets without waiting. There are about 5 or 6 of these machines out front. I've never used one so I don't know if there is an extra charge or not. I also don't know if you get your free stuff when you use the machine.

The lobby is big and they have lots of concession stands so you can get your snacks very fast. Plus there is enough room that if you get there when a movie is letting out you don't feel like you are packed in a can with a million other sardines.

They have a pretty good size game room. I hardly ever see anyone playing games though. Maybe the teens play them in the evening. I always go to matinees.

Let go get some snacks! I mean really, who can go to the movies without something to eat or drink. Plus, don't forget we get Milk Duds for only $1.00.

I bet you want popcorn and a coke huh? Not me, I never get popcorn.

I go straight for the nice warm pretzels. I get plain, no salt and a side of cheese sauce to dip it in. YUM! I always have to have a diet coke too.

Oh, I have to go to the bathroom. I have this thing that no matter if I just went, I HAVE to go again before the movie starts. If I don't I just think about getting up and having to go in the middle of the movie.

The bathrooms here are nice. First there are lots of stalls. This is just one side. Also, everything is automatic. So no touching dirty handles or faucets.
OK, that's better. Now lets go get our seats.
Aren't these seats comfy? I just love when everything is nice and new and nothing is broken or stained yet.

All the theaters are stadium seating. So where do you want to sit? Up high or down close? I like it in about the middle.

OK, now be quiet. The movie is about to start. Make sure your cell phone is turned off. I hate when they ring in the middle of the movie.

Well, now the show is over it's back to our car. No lunch or dinner today...sorry.

I noticed this little boy watching one of the water fountains. This one pops up water but you never know which hole the water will shoot up from or when.

Look at this little boy. He is so cute. Just waiting and waiting.

Is that water ever going to shoot out? YES, but I had already turned my camera off. He moved away just in time. A split second more and he would have been soaked!

So what did you think? Do you like our theaters here? Are they like yours?

Leave me a message and let me know what the cost of a movie is in your area.

Oh and by the way, I saw Momma Mia. I thought it was OK. Not the best, but a fun little movie.
The winner of the DREAM giveaway is listed below in the giveaway post. If you didn't win, keep coming back. I plan on doing quick little one day giveaways often. So don't miss out.

Hugs,

Joanne

That looks so much like the AMC theatre we have here. It's only about 1 1/2 miles away from me!

Nice tour of the theatres. They are much nicer than the ones in our small town.

HI Joanne :)
Your theater seats do look comfy!
We dont go to the movies much. Actually I cant even remember when we went last. I know we took our so to see a Disney movie but I cant even remember which one it was LOL
Anyway, we have one theater thats a the "dollar theater" where every movie entry is just one dollar per person. But a large theaters like you just posted about is about $12 per person I believe and the seats are not at all as comfy as what your look like. Yours looks real nice.

Talk to ya later sweetie,
Candy

Hi!

Our movie tickets are 7.50, but the matinées are 6:00.
We take our kids to the dollar cinema, which really costs 1.50, and get our candy from the dollar store...that way we can afford to go and see a movie once in awhile! :)

Hey Joanne!
Loved going to the movies with you!
We have an old movie theater in town - $7 and $5 before 5pm - not bad, but not fancy either!!
We've got a theater that looks like yours about 35 minutes away - we enjoy going there too.
Popcorn is a MUST for a Summer Kitchen Girl - we grew up eating popcorn for supper on Sunday evenings - Yum!!

Have a great day!

Hi Joanne!

I like your music! Is this Jason from American Idol singing "over the rainbow"? It was his best song!

Your theater is so nice and new and big!

In NYC a movie is $10 and sometimes more for a special screening.

I have been watching more DVDs lately than going to the movie theaters -- we use to love to go in summer for the air coinditioning alone! :-)

Hiya Joanne! Your theatre is amazing! Thanks for the tour! Ours seems like your general, run- of -the- mill theatre...
Last movie we saw was Get Smart and laughed and laughed. 'twas wondering how Mamma Mia was...thought it looked like a 'feel good' movie.
Maybe I'll wait for the DVD....
Cheers!
Myrn
P.S. I got letters from Joannes, too. I got PRAY and put it in my studio...
