This little bee was so busy working away that he didn't even notice me and my camera. I was just inches away from him and he didn't even flinch.
He was going from rose to rose collecting his nectar and getting pollen on his legs that will rub off on other plants and bring about more pretty flowers.
Just think, if we got rid of all the bees in the world, we would no longer have flowers or fruits and vegetables.
These little bees work hard to give us these wonderful gifts. Oh, and let's not forget about the honey that give us too. OK, maybe giving is not the right word. They let us "take" their honey from them.
I love bees. But, I've never been stung by one. It seems like some people attract bees to them and they get stung over and over again.
I think because I've never been stung I have no fear of them and when is near me I don't try to swipe it away. Therefore, I don't scare the bee or upset him and he doesn't have a desire to sting me.
I have a tree out back that was humming with bee's this year. It's sad to know that their population has gone done drastically enough that crops will suffer. I once stepped on a bee when a was younger and the stinger hurt like heck.
ReplyDeleteBe kind to bee's their precious gift my be extinct some day.
Ciao
I have been stung by a bee, but it was a long time ago. I barely remember it. I have a friend who is highly allergic to bee stings and must get to the hospital if she is stung. Love & blessings from NC!
ReplyDeleteWhat great photos with the bee.
ReplyDeleteBeing late Autumn here in Australia my roses are nearly at the end and soon (July) they will be pruned

Honey bees are good and keep themselves busy. Yes, I have been stung but not by a honey bee.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the up close pictures!
