THREE DAYS ALONE

My two sisters went to Vegas and I stayed home. They love going to Vegas and seem to always get great deals. They stay at the Wynn and have a wonderful time.

I would rather stay home alone. It's not that I don't like Vegas. I do. But, I don't LOVE Vegas. I would rather have time home all by myself.

I love the quiet. I love doing what I want, when I want. I almost feel like I'm vacation.

I've been spending a lot of time doing research on my family tree. I have not really found anything new but I keep searching. I did find a few addresses where I can send away to get some info. I hope!

I went to a movie and saw "Is anyone there". It was a great movie.

I bought several magazines to read and enjoy looking at the beautiful pictures. I've played catch up on things I had recorded on my DVR.

I'm even going to order a pizza for dinner tonight. Yum.

It's been wonderful and oh so relaxing!

I did find out that my nephew won't be able to take the cruise we had planned. His boss won't let him take off work on those days. Plus he won't even tell him when he can have his vacation until after June 1st. So, our plans are on hold.

I wasn't going to let that upset me though because I went ahead and booked a different cruise. I'm going alone. I'll have to tell you all about later. Maybe tomorrow.

I've been on a cruise alone before and had a blast! I know many people would never dream of doing such a thing and I used to think that too. Until I went.

I just got tired of waiting for others to be able to go. So I went alone. I loved it and being alone for these past few days made remember how much I adore my alone time.

Do you like to be alone? Have you ever gone on vacation alone? Would you?

Some people don't require much alone time but I do. I get a bit grumpy if I don't have some alone time to regroup every now and then. I've always been that way.

Even if it's just to go off and go shopping or see a movie or go to the beach. I need to get away and be with only myself. Is that normal? Are most people like that? I don't know.

  1. I don't mind traveling alone either. I know you'll have fun! I'm sorry I didn't get to go to the hat decorating class. I didn't go out of the house until Sunday afternoon. I'm afraid to say I had the flu what with all the "Swine Flu" stuff on TV. Atleast I didn't have S.flu. We're going to Hawaii in July and I'm so excited...it helped me get well! I also lost 7 more pounds!
Hard way to do it though!

  2. I love my alone time. I don't know if it's because I'm the oldest of 10 kids or what but I crave alone time. Like you if I don't get it I start to get stressed. I actually look forward to my monthly business trip so I can be alone in the hotel room with a good book and my computer.

  3. I was single for 15 years and never went on vacation by myself. I married a sweet man but he does not like the beach (we tried that) so anyway, last year I took the first vacation of my life by myself. I went to the beach and beaded, sunned, ate when I wanted & what I wanted. I thought I would be so lost but I LOVED IT!! I am going again for two weeks in June and I hope by myself. It is wonderful to have the alone time just to find out who we are within ourselves. Then we are refreshed and can face others boldly...love your comments...sharon

  4. Joanne, ah, a kindred spirit. I too love doing things alone. The only other person I really enjoy the company of is my family,, my sister. I love doing things with her and her family, but as far as being out there.no. I love going to the movies alone, shopping alone, eating out alone. It really doesn't matter to me. I enjoy my own company and that is the most important thing. Glad you found so many things to do and continue to enjoy your alone time! have a great day and take care.

  5. Hi Joanne
I do like a bit of time alone and can understand you prefering that to Vegas. My time alone is usually during the day and I get so much more done in the house then. When I am not bloging of course!!
I hope you have a great time on your forthcoming cruise. I look forward to hearing all about it and seeing your pictures in due course.

  6. Enjoy your "me" time. With as big a family as I have, I only get a few hours each morning that is all mine. Sometimes I spend it catching up on cleaning since there are no little ones underfoot, and sometimes I spend it here on the puter or watching a movie. Either way I think it's bliss.
    I've never travelled alone.

  7. I don't have much opportunities to be alone. Visit my blog and you'll see why! But I do like my quiet time, especially in the car. I know how you feel about getting tired of waiting for people to be able to go somewhere, so I joined a meetup group in socal called the lemon blossom league. We went to the Floral Park Home tour in Santa Ana last Sat. It was a nice group of ladies. I just wrote about it in my blog as well. Although you may go on a cruise alone, you won't be for long because you'll be meeting a lot of interesting people. I commend you for just doing it. Your my kind of gal!

  8. I can't blame you for wanting to stay home alone, it's a special time we all need. I grew up in Vegas when it wasn't too bad, now it's so dangerous, I don't miss it. Enjoy your time alone and those lovely roses, just lovely!

  9. I definitely need alone time but probably not as much as my husband. He is a bit of a loner...moreso than me. I can't imagine traveling alone though. I am probably too shy to do that. Now if anyone that knows me read that last line they would say Yah right Debbie! But it's true. I think it's great that you can do all that by yourself. I love my alone time at home getting caught up and a good rainy day is the best for me. There is a Bella (lovely blog) award waiting for you at my blog so go and grab it and share with others please!

  10. I love alone time which is probably why I like being single! I really want to go to Nantucket but no one seems to want to go. I just don't think I would have fun going alone on vacation though. I think I would get lonely!
