I'm going to fly to New York and spend five days in the big city! I can hardly wait.
I'm going to stay at the New York Marriott Marquis. It's right on Broadway. My room will over look Time Square.
I have been wanting to go back to New York for years. I have my whole trip planned out already.
I'm going to go on a few tours, go to see Ground Zero, go to Coney Island, Ellis Island, go to a play and of course enjoy some wonderful New York pizza and cheesecake! Yum.
I was a little scared about going there alone. I didn't want to get lost.
Then I found out, there is a group of volunteers that will meet up with you and spend a few hours showing you around. They show you how to use the subways, take you to places you really want to see, give you tips and hints on little places that are less known to the tourists. They spend around 4 hours with you and best of all it's FREE!
Plus I'm hoping I get to meet up with Pat from Mille Fiori Favoriti while I'm there.
My last day in New York I will board Holland America's Eurodam and cruise to the New England states and into Canada.
My first stop will be in Boston and Donna from An Enchanted Cottage is going to meet me and spend the day.
I can hardly wait. New York, a cruise and meeting up with two fellow bloggers. What a wonderful vacation this will be.
Good for you and I bet you will have a wonderful time:) !!!
ReplyDeleteTake lots of photos to share with us.
Warmly,
Deb
Congratulations! That sounds like a truly wonderful vacation! I love New York madly. You won't have any problem getting around on the subway at all, it's easy once you figure out the system. It's so cool that there are people that will show other people around the city, I didn't know that existed. Hey ... you can visit Bake and Magnolia Bakery and do the NY version of the cupcake review!!! :)
ReplyDeleteActually, I meant Baked, not Bake. :)
ReplyDeleteWell go for it, if not now then when ?
ReplyDeleteI looks like your up for a wonderful time.
Ciao
How fun Joanne! You will have such a fun time. I can't wait to hear all about it!

Oh my gosh, you are going to have a blast in NY, and I am so looking forward to your stay in Boston (even if it will be a whirlwind visit!)... Donna @ An Enchanted Cottage
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing trip! I would love to go back to New York. Last time I was there, I was a poor college student and din't get to see everything I wanted to.
ReplyDeleteAre you going to see a show when you are there? Broadway? Letterman? How exciting!
Sounds wonderful Joanne. It's good to know about the volunteers that will show you around New York for free. If we ever go we would definately need them. Your room on the cruise ship looks beautiful. I can't wait for August to hear all about it and see your pictures.

You are one lucky girl, that the trip I've always wanted to take ! Oh, someday I'll make it(I hope) please take lots of photos. Have a happy safe journey- Dina
ReplyDeletep.s I hope your seeing something on broadway.
It sounds like a wonderful trip Joanne! I've heard of the Big Apple Greeters --it's nice that you've made arrangements with them! There Is not much to see in Coney Island anymore as most of the rides are gone, but the Cyclone and Wonder Wheel are still there..and Nathans Hot Dogs. Are you going to try to take "The Slice of Brooklyn Pizza Tour"? It's a full day of two great pizzerias and lots of Brooklyn sights, including Coney Island. I'd love to meet you and maybe go to The Statue of Liberty with you one day of your visit. I never tire of visiting it and Ellis Island. I could walk you over to Ground Zero when we get off the boat at Battery Park...it's not too far.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great vacation. Looking for a great cruise to go on? Attending a holiday party cruise NYC is a tremendous amount of fun.
