WHERE DO I SIT?

;Anyone who knows me knows I love setting a table for a party, a luncheon or dinner. In doing so I found it is the little things that really makes my guest feel special.

A favor at their place setting, pretty napkin rings adorning their napkin and seeing their name in front of their place setting, let's them know I took a little bit of extra care to welcome them to my table.

Place Card holders are a fun way to add a little extra touch that tells your guest you really care.

I have started to collect fun little place card holders and I thought I would share a few with you today.

The one above does double duty. It's a place card holder and a napkin ring. Plus it's a little vase that holds flowers.

Here you can see a better view. I've just put some silk flowers in there for the picture but if I was using these on one of my tablescapes I would use fresh flowers.

I fell in love with these place card holders and just had to have them. I think they would be super cute on a Garden theme or Topiary theme tablescape.

I'm thinking maybe next Valentine's Day I may do my table with pink and green and use these as the place card holders.

These little birds in their nest just make me smile. Perfect for a tablescape set up outside in the Spring with either a bird or garden theme.

I just got these off of EBay. I love anything to do with Paris and I'm planning a Paris theme tablescape so these would be great. I think I'm going to paint them all black though. I'm not to thrilled with the black and silver color that they are now.

I got 12 of them so I may end up painting 1/2 black and the other 1/2 either white or silver.

Wouldn't these work great on for a Casino night or card night tablescape. They are super shinny silver and would reflect candle light really nice.

I've shown my set of vintage flower place cards before so I won't show them all to you again but this one is still my favorite out of all the ones I have.

It's great to have place cards at your table so your guest know where they should sit. They are also a good way for everyone to learn the other guests names if they don't yet know everyone. Much nicer then making everyone wear a name tag.

You don't have to but fancy place card holders in order to use place cards. You can use fruit, veggies or even fold your own place cards into little tent shapes to stand on their own.

Do you use place cards on your tablescapes?

I know this isn't a tablescape but since place cards are a part of tablescapes I'm going to link up to Tablescape Thurs over at Between Naps on the Porch. If you have not yet done so, go pop on over and take a look at all the great tablescapes over there!

  2. I adore all of your place card holders but I am really loving the topiaries (could I be dreaming of spring?). I don't have any although I have seen some really cute ones I was tempted to buy...it's just that I so rarely have an opportunity to use them. Maybe I will keep a set just for fun. Thanks for sharing, Joanne.

  4. I am drawn to place card holders, too, and have found myself pondering whether to throw a party to justify buying a set when I see some I like!

  12. I love to use place cards, especially at Christmas. I have snowmen who hold names cards. One year, I used them among my snowmen on the mantel. Each held a card saying Merry Christmas in a different language. So much fun to have different sets of holders.
Like the others, I love the bird. Will you share the source with us?

  14. I just bought those heart topiary place card holders for my Mad Hatter party! I had a party for 40 four year olds on Sunday and I needed some more placecards and the ones I have are discontinued.

I love the giant chess set at the rescue center....very Wonderland!

The movie and Mad Tea party were so much fun at Disneyland on Friday night. I still have not forgot about our lunch date. Do you want to pick a date now? Let me know!
