GARDEN SHEDS

I've been dreaming again. This time it's about having a big back yard and a cute shed in the garden. No not one of those plain ones you see at Home Depo. A cute one with charm.

Like this one. It looks like a little doll house. I think I could live in this one it's so cute.

Or one like this with lots of windows to let the fresh air in.

I wouldn't want to keep junk in my shed. I would want it fixed up inside like a little cottage room. A place to sneak out to for some quiet time.

Wouldn't it be wonderful to have a little get away right in your own back yard. A place you could go to with your latest additions of your favorite magazines and not be bothered by the phone ringing, other people talking to you, the door bell ringing.

I think the only thing bad about having one of these dream sheds would be I wouldn't want to ever leave it. It would be my own little space in the world.

I'm not sure if I would even allow anyone else to ever come in. Well, my dogs could but maybe that's all.

Oh yes, a little one room cottage right out of a story book. A place to put all my wonderful treasures that some people call junk.

Well, a girl can dream, can't she? Sadly, we don't have any room in our backyard for a cute little cottage shed...but if I did...
Are you lucky enough to own your own little garden shed?

  1. I LOVE these "sheds". I saw a decorating show once where they made a guest room out of a storage shed, it was fabulous and I've wanted one ever since!!

    Thanks for sharing!

  2. Joanne, those are gorgeous! My favorite is the one with all the windows so I could watch all my Chips and Sammies scurrying around the garden! We have a "Reeds Ferry" shed. Now it's not on par with the ones you showed, but it does have cute little windowboxes that give it a little charm factor! And it's used just for storing stuff - I'd love to have one for the reasons you mentioned!!!!... Donna @ An Enchanted Cottage

  3. Sigh...yes...HEAVY sigh...I have a two of those sheds from Home Depot. Nothing like what is pictured. One would need a large and lovely yard and I have seen those before..but..I don't think it will happen in this lifetime. I am considering painting some vines and roses around the door...sort of trailing down one side, then attaching a little wooden sign to the door with Garden Shed on it.
It is about as close as I am going to get. I did that at my last home and then I put a red brick porch in front of the door with a little brick path leading up to it. NOT like these but I felt better about it. :)
So..you are not alone, Joanne. :) I loved looking at the ones you posted. Just cute as heck!

P.S. How is your cold? I really am getting sick of not feeling uncomfortable here. Makes me mad. I am anxious to get your feeling on this place.
I really do like this house..and was SO comfortable for awhile. I miss feeling that way.

  4. That's been my dream for sometime now, after the winter we had, I told hubby we need to build a small getaway cabin on the property for times when we lose power, I'd have a wood stove, a bed, chair and all the charm I could find! The more rustic the better! Love the ones you found!

  9. I love them all, but don't have the room in the yard for a half of one.

If I did, I would want the third one.

  10. This is an awesome post, Joanne... I have always had the dream of such a shed or small cottage tucked out back... Loved the ones you shared... It's just so magical to dream about it, and it makes me feel like I could be a teeny tiny fairy living the enchanted life!!

Hope all is going well for you, my friend...
    God bless...

  11. That's really cool that we both had the same theme idea, and yet totally different ways of putting it together! That's why they say 2 heads are better than 1 :)

Right now because we are not doing a table I don't have anything to put this together for....but I'm going to save it for the future.

I didn't think a candy theme would be good until I read your commment about it being "A Dentists Dream". That really would have been perfect. We were a little concerned that it would cost alot to get all the candy we wanted.

Now the table then I AM going to help with (for a different business) is going to be Under The Sea. So feel free to share any ideas if you don't mind. :)
    Have a great day.

by the way...love those sheds....I dream of having a nice one like that.

  12. These sheds seem more like mini-houses. I just love them. I could never "store" anything in one, I'd have to live in it or use it as a guest cottage. They're too beautiful.

  14. The sheds are all so cute that it is hard to pick a favorite! I have a Home Depot TuffBarn and while it is not as lovely as those in the photos, I do adore it! It replace a small tin shed that came in a kit. The doorway was so low that I always bumped my head and I am short! Anyway, I painted my "barn" in colors to match our house. My hubby made shutters for it. I sewed curtains. We put up a weathervane and added a stone stoop in the entryway, along with a cute light over the doors. As I said, I love it!
