WHO SAYS IT'S TO EARLY FOR CHRISTMAS??

In my office I have this framed cork board. Since I collect vintage postcards I thought it would be fun to change them out for the holidays.

I had some time today so I went through my Christmas postcards and pulled out some of the Santa Claus ones to display.

I'm a big Santa fan! Everything about Santa is good. He is kind, happy, friendly and loves to give presents!

This one is at the top of the board. A nice clear message that just says A MERRY CHRISTMAS.

I know some people think it's way to early to start putting out decorations for Christmas. But, I don't think so. Now as I sit on the computer I can look at these happy pictures and smile.

Yes, I know I totally skipped over Thanksgiving. I guess I could have put up some of my Thanksgiving postcards. It's just that I love Christmas time and have been in the Christmas spirit for awhile now. Besides, it's my board and I can decorate it how I want. LOL

I really like the postcards that have writting on the back. I like to read who sent them, where they lived and what they said.

This is my favorite Santa postcard!

So what do you think? Am I way to early with putting these out? Should I let them stay put or go with the Thanksgiving ones?

When do you start to decorate for Christmas?

Hugs,
Joanne

  1. I don't decorate for Christmas any more. We just put up a tree and have it in our hearts, honey. It's so much easier that way for us. But I love those little bulletin boards you've done. Really cute......

  4. I don't think it's too early for Christmas at all. The day after Halloween I started putting away those decorations to make way for Christmas. If I hadn't gotten distracted with other things during the week, I'd have a tree up and in the process of being decorated now. But then for me, Christmas is such a joyful time of year that I like to draw the holiday out as looooong as possible because it seems to fly by so fast.

And to answer the question you left at my blog ... no, it most decidedly does not make you a bad person. I think you would only be bad if you had not cast a vote. ;^)

    All the best-
    Sue

  8. Vintage postcards are the best and I LOVE yours! I always look for Christmas ones but can never seem to find any..I see you have them all..lol! I think you should put up whatever you want when you want..it's your house! Do what makes you happy! I am struggling to not break out the Christmas stuff myself. The minute everybody finishes their turkey dinner though..they are all helping me bring in the Christmas decorations! :-)

  11. It's not too early at all!!! I wanted to put my Christmas dishes in my china cabinet this past weekend but didn't get to it. That's the goal for this coming weekend. The rest of my Christmas things I will put up Thanksgiving weekend. I have a gazillion Christmas decorations so I have to spread it out or it would totally wear me out!! Your bulletin board looks great and I LOVE those vintage postcards. I collect Santa's also!!!

  14. You have the neatest collections, Joanne! Your "Department Store Santa" photos and now these vintage cards... We usually wait until haver my daughter's b-day (November 30th) to start decorating for the holidays. I've achieved minimalism with my Halloween decor, but it will never happen with Christmas! ha ha... Donna

  20. Looks great and what a wonderful way to display your collection.
I haven't started decorating for Christmas yet. I leave my Fall decor up until Thanksgiving day and then it comes down that night and all the Christmas decor goes up the day after Christmas. We wait until the 2nd week of December to put up our tree though.

  22. Sadly I don't decorated until about 2 weeks before.

I love the look of Christmas, but don't always like to put things out. I might try harder this year.
