I've always loved pretty china plates. I don't think you can have to many.
I like to hang them on the walls, put them in the china hutch and I love to use them. I used to never use them because I didn't want them to break. Then I figured, if they break then you just use the broken pieces for mosaics.
There is nothing prettier then a table set with a lovely table cloth and beautiful vintage china.
How about you? Do you enjoy collecting vintage china too?
Hugs,
Joanne

You have some lovely ones, and you are right that you can never have too many beautiful plates!
ReplyDeleteHi Joanne,
ReplyDeleteOh what a lovely collection you have! I have such an appreciation for old china! I am glad that you use it..that is what it was meant for. I like to set the table with all different pieces for special dinners..it looks so charming! I really enjoyed the post below this, too. You have such a big heart..and knowing that you were able to help in the effort to save lives..what a wonderful gift! Kindness always comes back 2 fold!

ReplyDeleteI love the blue one. Adorable.
ReplyDeleteThe china patterns are so pretty. I love it too! I think I inherited my love for pretty dishes from my Grandma Bessie. I have a pattern very similar to the last one!

Oh,Yes, Joanne,I'm loving your plates. Nice photos. You could do "something" with the photos. I have some plates on the wall in the "eating/dining" area. They are blue/white ones. The other pretty ones are in the china cabinet. I should use them! Take care.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Deb

Those are beautiful! I really love the blue hand painted ones!
ReplyDeleteI love flowered china too. I do collect plates. I'm always on the look out for new ones! Yours are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYou certainly have some beautiful plates!
ReplyDeleteI don't have a china collection...just my mothers I use on special occasions.
Hi Joanne!
ReplyDeleteYour collection is gorgeous! What a lovely table that would make with all the different plates set around it.
My dad was collecting some old fashioned looking china from the bank before he passed suddenly. It's my favorite and is so sentimental for me. I like to use it for special events and little teas.
We had a great time at our class reunion! We had fun seeing some of our favorite people in HS that we hadn't seen or talked to in 40yrs.
Hugs, Sherry
Sooo lovely, Joanne! You have a beautiful china collection. That third photo, with the forget-me-not pattern...could you please tell me a little bit about that pattern? I have a plate with a similar forget-me-not motif that's Limoges and have been trying to find the name of the pattern. Forget-me-not china is a great find! Happy Days ((HUGS))
ReplyDeleteI'd love to collect vintage china but I never find any for sale! There are no thrift shops or antique stores near me at all. I have to travel into Manhattan and then those shope would want a literal "arm and a leg" for everything ...lol!
ReplyDeleteI pick up "pretend" antique china at Marshalls and TJ Maxx though. Pretty dishes and containers. Does that count?
Hugs, Pat
Oh, how beautiful. They are all lovely but my favorite is the one with the little blue flowers (the third, I think.) I was on the hunt this weekend for individual old plates. I think a table set that way looks so pretty.
ReplyDeleteOh, they are sooo pretty! It makes me remember my grandmother's house. She had all mismatched china for her every day dishes. The rims are soo pretty, so detailed!
ReplyDeleteOOOOO, beautiful, beautiful.......and so dainty. I love plates, for that matter I love most all old dishes. I have a few hanging in my bedroom.....alas, the only spot I have to show them off, and that is ok, as I love and enjoy them.......thank you for sharing.
